There Are Rules?
- Enjoy the show
- Respect the performers and the audience
- Each performer has up to 8 minutes on stage (with a 30 second grace period)
- Performers, please notify us WELL in advance of any recorded media, props, or stage setting you will need or be bringing to make sure we can accommodate you.
- If you are performing to recorded music, make sure you send us an MP3 of the music you are using and include instructions (start music on or off stage, order of songs, etc...) We purge the music from our system after every show, so if you perform to the same music again, resend it please. We won't have it on hand. email music and instructions to [email protected] no later than Wednesday before the show. Music and media not received by Wednesday the week of the show will not be in our system and you will lose your spot in the line up.
- No performer shall be censored. At all. Seriously. So while we don't have an official age restriction, keep in mind that this show does not restrict its performers on language, content, subject matter, or opinions expressed. With the one exception that hate speech will not be tolerated.
- No fire, animals, or anything that may damage the stage or theater allowed
- You can film and take pictures by all means but please NO flashes or lights. On occasion, performers will request their performance not be filmed. If such a request is made, anyone filming or photographing that performance without explicit permission from the artist will be removed.
- Sign up for the next show will begin when the doors open at the current show
- Performers may sign up by contacting us on Facebook, via e-mail, through this website, signing up at the previous show, or signing up the night of if there is still room on the list
- Spots will be given on a first come first serve basis, but the order of sign up in no way reflects the order of performance. All requests for performance received after the line up is full will be placed on a reserve list. In the event of cancellations, performers will be added from the reserve list in the order in which their requests were received.
- Performers must check in at the theater by 7:45 or they may lose their spot to someone on the reserve list who is present. If you are unable to arrive before 8PM, contact us ASAP and let us know when you will arrive. Not contacting us regarding a late arrival may result in losing your place in the lineup. This helps us to order the line up in advance and avoid having to fill gaps at the last minute.
- We are asking that performers not sign up for two months in a row. Meaning, if you perform in October, please take a step back from the early sign up list for November. If there are slots available the week of the show, you are welcome to sign up then. This will allow for a rotation of our regular performers and for new performers to be more easily introduced to W.O.F.
- And last but not least, if you come to Wide Open Floor and have a good time, come back and bring a friend :)
